The pilot project for PICC Madagascar began October 2018 in Lelydorp, Suriname.

The program was made possible through a partnership with Dr. Marilyn Norconk’s Suriname Forest Fragment Project (SFFP), funded by a Fubright Research grant to Dr. Norconk (Kent State Univ) and Sylvia Atsalis (Univ. Chicago) in 2012.

The conservation outreach portion of SFFP serves to implement community education programs, cement community bonds to forest fragments and help residents develop a sustainable forest protection program.  Learn more about the project launch here.
